Michele Scaggiante
Chief Information and Technology Officer
Michele Scaggiante is the chief information and technology officer at the Ford Foundation, where he leads the organization’s technology strategy and IT operations.
Michele is responsible for overseeing the foundation’s technology infrastructure, systems, and applications, as well as its information security and information management programs. He is also responsible for driving digital innovation across the foundation, ensuring that technology is used to support and enhance the foundation’s mission and impact.
Prior to joining the Ford Foundation in 2021, Michele served as the vice president and chief information officer at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he provided leadership in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, Michele was vice president and chief information officer of New York Blood Center and held various leadership positions at Pfizer. Across his career, Michele has used his skills in IT to advance the missions of organizations seeking to provide health, education, and social services to vulnerable populations.
Michele began his career with IBM in Venice, Italy. He holds an advanced degree in engineering from Padua University.
