Tina Chipwanya is the grants manager for Ford’s Southern Africa Office. In this role, she enhances grant-making processes, supports grantee interactions, and assists program officers in grant management. Tina is responsible for reviewing grant requests, monitoring financials, tracking payments, maintaining documentation, and conducting grantee onboarding. She ensures smooth grant-making processes, provides technical support to grantees, and upholds compliance policies. Additionally, Tina manages grant portfolios, offers financial oversight, and facilitates effective communication between staff, grantees, and partners, contributing to the strategic goals of the Foundation.

In her previous role, Tina excelled in grant management, capacity building, and partner relationship management. She oversaw the entire grant-making process, including grant calls, assessments, due diligence, and budget management. She developed and optimized grant administration systems and ensured compliance with financial policies and donor requirements. Tina coordinated with grant-seeking organizations, supervised grant implementation, and monitored grantee expenditures. She played a key role in building partner capacity through training on financial management systems and policy dialogues, contributing to the institutional development of grant finance management systems and supporting strategic objectives.

Tina holds a BA Honours in Development Studies and a BA in International Relations and Politics from the University of the Witwatersrand. She also has a National Diploma in Financial Accounting from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and a CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
