Muzna Al-Masri

Academic researcher

Beirut, Lebanon, MENA

“I believe that effective leadership relies on accepting uncertainty.”

Leadership: Muzna Al-Masri is an engaged academic and a reflective activist. She is at the forefront of academic research on the intersection of anthropology and conflict resolution, with a particular emphasis on forced displacement and the experience of living in war and violence. She is currently collaborating with other researchers to develop a knowledge production hub that focuses on the experience of war, violence, migration, and the environment.

Vision: Muzna believes in a community-based model of leadership and strongly values academic collaboration. As an academic, she seeks to reconcile critical academic rigor with the engagement and moral grounding of activism and to support a learning process that nurtures emerging possibilities and visions. She also hopes to broaden the vision, reach, and impact of her research hub.
